Interactive
An interactive exhibition that uses video tracking, shape recognition and digital media to create a space that displays the way we use violence and new media to interpret the wars around the globe today. I created a small, 7-second video, a visual interpretation or digital animation of the comic book written words “bang, bang, bang.” (onomatopoeia). By using New Media and play I am creating an intersection between the viewer and the monitors. A child recites the number of people killed by guns, the participant standing on the masked area is forced to take the suggested position of the action of a shooter (typical of comic book or action heroes) with 2 hands holding a gun in front ready for action. The monitor and sound will react to the exact positioning of the participants, causing the media to yell back “bang bang bang bang bang” until they move.
